                                   New Internet service provider 'NEC Biglobe' lunch in Japan


TOKYO - Japanese systems integrator NEC Corp. has started a sales process for its Internet service provider NEC BIGLOBE expected to tens of billions of yen ( hundreds of millions of dollars ) to download, sources familiar with the situation said Thursday .

The first licensing round for a potential buyer will be held as early as November, sources said.

NEC had no immediate comment.

BIGLOBE , which claims 3 million users and is one of Japan's leading Internet service providers , revenue 84.1 billion yen ( $ 865.27 million ) in the last year to March.

Financially strapped NEC is focused on the integration of business systems and shed unprofitable activities , striving for a turnaround in its fortunes after posting a loss 110000000000 yen two years ago.

It has its personal computer operations into a single company controlling interest Lenovo Group Ltd. in July and plan to relax its smartphone business , reduce operational synergies with its ISP announced arm.
